Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a treating method of surplus sludge high in digesting ratio and fast in digesting rate. CONSTITUTION:The surplus sludge is grinded is grinded with a stone grist nill tape grinder 2 using a counter gap of a pair of non-porous grinding stones 2a and 2b which move relatively as a grinding part, and the ground surplus sludge is digested in an anaerobic digesting tank. Since the non-porous grinding stones 2a and 2b hardly have pores and have extremely little fear of damage resulted from frictional heat, etc., both grinding stones 2a and 2b can be moved relatively in a state near 0mm counter plane distance. Both counter planes of the pair of the grinding stones 2a and 2b are preferably slid while substantially being mutually in contact, thus the surplus sludge is ground while being passed through a fine gap between both the sliding counter planes.
