SOFA BED

PURPOSE:To provide a sofa bed having a very high commercial value, by which the operation of converting a bed mode to a sofa mode can be easily conducted in a short time, and the rigidity of the backrest can be increased without increase in weight. CONSTITUTION:A pair of movable backrest half units 30, 31 are formed on arm rest units 20 of both sides of a bed base 11 in such a manner as to be displaced to a bed mode and a sofa mode, and reinforcing pipe materials 40, 41 extended toward both sides are respectively fixed to the back sides of the respective movable backrest half units 30, 31. A connecting rod 46 projected in the direction of the shaft center is formed on the end part 42 of one reinforcing pipe material 40, and a guide opening part 48 for guiding the forward end side of the connecting rod 46 from the direction substantially right-angled to the direction of the shaft center is formed on the end part 43 of the other reinforcing pipe material 41.
