Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To obtain automatic gain adjustment whose performance is improved even in a system with low S/N by using an automatic gain adjusting device for adjusting the gain of a variable gain amplifier by detecting the signal level of demodulated data. CONSTITUTION: A root mean detecting and holding circuit 10 detects and holds the level of inputted I and Q data. A peak detecting and holding circuit 11 peak-detects and holds a reference voltage. An adder 12 constituted of an OP amplifier receives the signal level and the reference voltage at the non-inversion terminal and the inversion terminal, and generates an output equivalent to (I+Q)-(2 × the reference voltage) for preparing an output voltage equivalent to the size of the signal level. An integrator 13 integrates the voltage prepared by the adder 12, generates a control voltage, and controls the gain of the variable gain amplifier.
