Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing a processed polyester fiber alternately having a deeply dyed part and a shallowly dyed part in the longitudinal direction of the filament. CONSTITUTION:A highly oriented polyester unstretched yarn 1 having 20X10 to 80X10 index of birefringence is used as a feed yarn. Water or an aqueous liquid 3 is intermittently applied to the feed yarn in the longitudinal direction. A heat treatment 4 is subsequently applied thereto so that a water-applied part and a water-unapplied part may respectively constitute a deeply dyed part and a shallowly dyed part. A simultaneous stretching and false twisting treatment 7 is then applied to the filament at >=300 m/min without substantially forming a coarse and fine unevenness.
