FLURBIPROFEN-CONTAINING EXTERNAL PREPARATION

PURPOSE:To obtain a flurbiprofen-containing external preparation excellent in percutaneous absorbing property and pharmacodynamic effects of a medicine and simply usable by blending flurbiprofen and a lactic acid ester into a tacky base. CONSTITUTION:This external preparation contains flurbiprofen and a lactic acid ester in a tacky base containing a rubber-based elastomer, a tackiness- providing resin and a plasticizer. The rubber-based elastomer participates in long acting property of pharmacodynamic effects due to stable release of the tacky base and the medicine, and a styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer is preferably used in an amount of 30-60wt.% as the elastomer. A rosin resin is exemplified as the tackiness-providing resin and the rosin resin is blended in an amount of 30-60wt.%. The lactic acid ester is blended in an amount of 5-25wt.% as a plasticizer for softening a percutaneous absorption promoter and a tacky agent, and cetyl lactate is exemplified as the lactic acid ester. The flurbiprofen is included in an amount of 1-15wt.% and the plasticizer is included in an amount of 5-25wt.%. Flurbiprofen-containing external preparation is preferably used as a cataplasm by applying it as medicine-retaining layer on a support for cataplasm.
