Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide the auxiliary device calculating and displaying the dimension of material pieces for a patchwork and to provide the sewing machine equipped with this device. CONSTITUTION:A storage means 1 is stored with the design pattern of the patchwork and the dimension calculation program of the material pieces for the pattern and when a design pattern is selected by a selecting means 2, the size of material pieces are calculated by an arithmetic means 7. The size of the work inputted from a work size input means 3 and the number of pieces inputted from a designating means 5 for the number of pieces are suitably used for an arithmetic operation, and the arithmetic result is displayed on a display means 8.
