Zusammenfassung:Prodn. of a mixt. of alpha-D-glucopyranosido-1,6-mannitol and alpha-D-glucopyranosido-1,6-sorbitol from alpha-D-glucopyranosido-1,6-fructose comprises hydrogenation at 100-400 bar H2 and 40-80 oC in a solid bed process, using carrier-free catalyst bodies comprising alloys of the iron sub-group VIII elements as catalyst and group VIB elements as activator, formed by powder moulding. The moulded bodies have pressure resistance of 20-250N and an inner surface area of 10-80m2/g.
