FILTER PRESS

PURPOSE:To provide a filter press which enables a dehydrated cake remaining inside a filter cloth to be recovered into a hopper without being discharged from a trough, if an area inside the filter cloth of the filter press is cleaned. CONSTITUTION:A filter press consists of a main filter press system 1 which separates slurry comprising of a mixture of powder and a dispersing liquid into a filtrate and a dehydrated cake by filtering the slurry through a filter cloth, a receiving tray 22 located below the main filter press system and a hopper 4 which is located below the receiving tray and has an opening on the upper part. The receiving tray 22 has a lower gradient at one terminal side than at the other and covers the lower part of the main filter press system 1. In addition, the receiving tray 22 is composed of an almost flat plate which can be closed against the opening of the hopper 4, and also is equipped with weir plates 23a, 23b almost perpendicularly above the flat plate on one terminal side of the receiving tray 22.
