EDITING METHOD FOR DISK RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To simplify editing work and to prevent erroneous erase due to misediting. CONSTITUTION:When an MD-MO 1 whose tracks No.1-8 are recorded with music pieces of A-H is loaded, a controller 14 causes an optical pickup 3 and a signal processing circuit 10 to read UTOC information from the UTOC area of the MD-MO 1 and to store it into a RAM 15. When a user desires to erase pieces B, D and F, the controller 14 additionally registers them to the RAM 15 every time the user inputs the tracks No.2, No.4 and No.6 using the ten-key pad under the editing mode, and then the user once depresses the erase key. All the tracks registered to be erased are erased in a lump after the controller 14 erases the information on these tracks in the UTOC information registered on the RAM 15 and the control information on the remaining tracks is renumbered. After that, the user depresses the eject key, and the controller 14 causes the signal processing circuit 10 and a recording head 6 to record the UTOC information of the RAM 15 on the UTOC area of the MD-MO 1 before ejecting the cassette.
