Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To inexpensively provide a tapping device to completely synchronize rotation of a tap installed on the tip side of a ball screw with a feed quantity of a forward and backward movement by a difference between rotating speeds by rotating the ball screw and a ball nut so that the rotating speeds become different from each other. CONSTITUTION:A tapping device 1 has a ball screw 5 where a tap 7 is installed on the tip through a chuck 6 so as to be freely mountable and demountable, a ball nut 4 to rotatably support a screw part 5b of this ball screw 5 and a single driving motor 10 to rotate these ball nut 4 and ball screw 5 through pulleys 12 and 13 or timing belts 16 and 19 or the like so that rotating speeds become different from each other. Thereby, when the driving motor 10 is driven, rotation of the tap 7 and a feed quantity of a forward and backward movement are completely synchronized with each other by a difference in rotating speed between the ball nut 4 and the ball screw 5.
