ELECTRONIC DRUM

PURPOSE:To enable the same playing expression with an acoustic musical instrument by arranging a vibration pickup at the end of a drum head and providing a buffer zone crossing the line connecting the vibration pickup and the center of the drum head. CONSTITUTION:The buffer zone 37 are provided between the vibration pickup 34 and the center of the drum head 24. The buffer zone 37 is constituted by cutting an elastic body such as rubber thin and long, and interposed and fixed between the drum head 24 and buffer material 32 in a direction crossing the line connecting the vibration pickup 34 and the center part of the drum head 24. Thus, the buffer zone 37 is provided and then the vibration of the drum head 24 is stopped by the buffer zone 37 whichever position of the drum head 24 is struck, so the vibration of the drum head 24 is never propagated directly to the vibration pickup 34. Namely, the vibration is repeatedly reflected by the surface joined with a shell 20 and passes mainly through a part where the the buffer zone 37 is not present to reach the vibration pickup 34. Therefore, a sound has no difference in strength with the strike position on the drum head 24.
