IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve image quality by providing an optical image irradiation means irradiating photoconductive toner attached to a transparent electrode substrate with an optical image from the back surface side of the transparent electrode substrate and a transfer means transferring the photoconductive toner irradiated with the optical image on a recording material. CONSTITUTION:The toner 22 attached to the surface of the transparent electrode substrate 12 is carried to a transfer area B and irradiated with the optical image from the back surface side of the substrate 12 at an exposure point A. Then, the electric charge of the toner 22 at an exposure part is neutralized and an electrostatic latent image is formed at the exposure part. Since the point A is set in the area B, the toner 22 of the electrostatic latent image is attracted to a transfer electric field and transferred on the recording material 40 almost at the same time as the time when the electrostatic latent image is formed at the point A. Therefore, since the image quality is hardly affected by the electric charge of the toner 22 of a non-exposed part, it is prevented from being deteriorated. Besides, a toner attachment device 14 including a supply roller 28, a bias power source 30 and the like is used in a figure but it is not necessary.
