Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a novel triazinone derivative which can be orally given and is useful as a cardiotonic agent with high safety. CONSTITUTION:A derivative of the formula I (R is H, a 1-5C alkyl; R is N1-3, O, S-containing 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which may be substituted) or a salt thereof, for example, 4,5-dihydro-5-methyl-6-[4-(4-pyridylamino) phenyl]-1,2,4-3(2H)-triazinone. The derivative is obtained, for example, by heating a compound of the formula II in the presence of an excessive amount of hydrazine in an inert solvent such as ethanol at room temperature to 200 deg.C for 0.5-10 hours. The compound of the formula II, the starting substance, is prepared by reaction of a compound of the formula III (X is halogen) with a compound of the formula IV.
