Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacturing cost of a holding device for holding sheet-like bodies such as circular-shaped magnetic discs, semiconductor wafers, etc., by a method wherein the holding device is formed by mutually connecting a plurality of jigs provided with holding grooves for engaging with and holding the sheet-like bodies to connecting bodies. CONSTITUTION:A holding device 11 which is used in a manufacturing process of magnetic discs comprises three jigs 12 and two connecting bodies 14 connected to both ends of each of these jigs 12. Each of the jigs 12 has coupling parts 22 provided at both ends of a main body 21 extending in the longitudinal direction of the jig, and substantially flat-shaped side plates 24, 24 are provided on both sides of each main body 21 to be formed into a substantially U-like configuration in cross section. Holding grooves 26 having a substantially triangular shape in cross section and extending in the widthwise direction of the main body 21 are provided at predetermined intervals in the longitudinal direction of each main body 21, and substantially triangular-shaped notches 27 are also provided on each side plate 24. These notches 27 are provided by deviating their positional phases with respect to the right and left side plates 24, 24 so that the notches 27 are not mutually opposed to one another. Magnetic discs are held by the holding device in such a state that their edges are engaged with the holding grooves 26.
