SURFACE DEFECT SECTION REPAIRING METHOD FOR METAL PIECE

PURPOSE:To correctly recognize a surface defect section and surely grind and remove it by artificially inspecting the surface of a metal piece, and arranging a grinding range display frame at the surface defect section. CONSTITUTION:A grinding range display frame 3 and a defect display plate 4 for each defect type are arranged at the surface defect section 2 of a metal piece 1. The portion surrounded by the grinding range display frame 3 and the portion of the defect display plate 4 for each defect type are photographed by a television camera 5 and inputted to a mark reader 6. The inputs are recognized by the mark reader 6, the grinding range and the grinding sequence (if there are multiple grinding positions) are determined, and the results are inputted to a repair controller 8. The grinding position, speed, grinding direction, number of grinding reciprocations, and grinding distance are instructed to a repairing device 9, the repairing device 9 locates a grinding wheel 10 at the surface defect section 2 in the grinding range of the metal piece 1, and the surface defect section 2 is ground and removed for repair.
