LABEL

PURPOSE:To obtain a label which is sufficient in hiding characteristic and can be easily and inexpensively provided with an adhesive layer of a required thickness by coating a label base material with an adhesive layer consisting of a white heat-sealable resin. CONSTITUTION:The label A is composed of the label base material 3 consisting of the transparent synthetic resin film layer 1 and a printing layer 2 disposed on the rear surface side thereof and the adhesive layer 4 consisting of the white heat-sealable resin disposed on the printing layer 2 side of the base material 3. The white heat-sealable resin in whitened by adding a white pigment, such as titanium dioxide, to a base resin consisting of, for example, a low-density polyethylene is used as the adhesive constituting the adhesive layer 4. The printing layer 2 of the label base material 3 is coated with the adhesive layer 4 by extrusion lamination. The label A is mounted onto the surface 5 of a container B within a metal mold at the time of molding the hollow container B and is thermally shrunk to some extent together with the container and is thus formed approximately flush with the surface 5 of the container B.
