PLANNING TYPE EXPERT SYSTEM STRUCTURING ASSISTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To structure the planning type expert system which automatically designs a plan of high quality at a high speed with small development man-hours and to facilitate maintenance by using a restriction problem description language and a general allocation library. CONSTITUTION:This device consists of a restriction optimization problem description language 12 which enables the description of a restriction optimization problem, a restriction problem managing mechanism 14 which manages internal data 13 of the restriction optimization problem, a basic restriction processing mechanism 16 which evaluates and propagates restrictions, and the versatile allocation library 15 wherein allocation routines for back tracking, initial allocation, automatic adjustment, etc., are gathered. Then a user formulizes a plan problem as a restriction optimization problem 11 consisting of a set of variables, a set of candidates for the variables, a set of restrictions among the variables, and a target function and generates the restriction optimization problem description 11 by using the restriction optimization problem description language 12. Further, an allocation routine in the versatile allocation library 15 is selected and utilized as an automatic plan designing function.
