METHOD FOR CONTROLLING STORAGE CONTROL SYSTEM, STORAGE CONTROL SYSTEM AND STORAGE CONTROL UNIT

PURPOSE:To successively access plural storage areas, which are at a distance in a rotary storage device, without causing a rotation wait. CONSTITUTION:In an information processing system consisting of a central processing unit 1, a channel device 2, a disk control unit 3, and a magnetic disk device 4, the disk control unit 3 is equipped with a command decoding part 31 which analyzes individual command coming from the channel device 2, a track switching part 32 which is actuated by a control signal 31a from the command decoding part 31, a disk read/write processing part 33 which is actuated by a control signal 31b from the command decoding part 31 and controls the transfer of data between the magnetic disk device 4 and channel device 2, and a track switching map 34, and, plural indicated tracks to be accessed are stored in the track switching map 34 at a time and head switching operation in the same cylinder is performed successively without any rotation wait while the track switching map 34 is referred to.
