CONSTITUTION:A plate 4 for preventing gas entanglement is installed in the outer circumference on the side of the lower end of a flow shroud 2. When it moves from outward in the radius direction from the original position, the tip of a swirl occurring on the free liquid surface of an upper plenum extends downward to the outer circumference of the plate 4 for preventing gas entanglement and then goes below it toward the original lower end of the flow shroud 2. In the meantime, the flow velocity of the swirl is reduced and gas entrainment is prevented not only at a low flow rate of coolant but also at a high flow rate of it.
