POLYIMIDE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, comprising a polyimide resin having a specific recurring unit and a fluororesin, excellent in sliding characteristics, moldable by injection, having a small friction coefficient and excellent abrasion resistance and useful for various bearing materials, piston rings, etc. CONSTITUTION:This composition comprises 100 pts.wt. polyimide resin having a recurring unit expressed by formula I [Y is S or C(CH3)2; R is a >=2C tetravalent group such as an aliphatic, a cycloaliphatic, a monocyclic aromatic or a condensed polycyclic aromatic group] and 5-100 pts.wt. fluororesin. Furthermore, the polyimide resin is obtained by reacting an ether-diamine expressed by formula II with a tetracarboxylic dianhydride expressed by formula III.
