ROLLER GUIDE MECHANISM FOR ROLLING

PURPOSE:To prevent the initial chipping of a guide roller by elastically moving a guide roller supporting body along the advancing direction of a rolled stock in a path with a shock absorbing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The tip part of the rolled stock A is introduced from a entrance part 6 and runs into between a pair of guide rollers 12 at high speed. The guide roller 12 is mounted to a square cylindrical sliding body 4 through a guide roller support. The sliding body 4 is moved opposing the elastic force of a coil spring 13 by the impact force that is received with the guide rollers 12. The sliding body 4 is freely slidably supported in the advancing direction of the rolled stock A with a guide box 1 whose front and rear ends are opened. The movement in the reverse direction to the advance of the sliding body 4 is limited with a movement adjusting plate 14. The movement in the advancing direction of the sliding body 4 is limited with a stopper 5, so the movement (a) of the sliding body 4 is slight. But, by moving the sliding body, impact load is remarkably reduced, and the breakage of the guide rollers 12 is prevented.
