CONSTITUTION:In the case of decomposing DMF, which is a hydrophilic organic compound used as a solvent in producing synthetic leather and synthetic fibers or used as a medium for extracting butadiene, refining acethylene, etc., a bacterial strain belonging to the genus, Bacillus capable of assimilating and decomposing DMF is reacted with a liquid containing DMF. As a result, DMF can be decomposed efficiently. Bacterial strain belonging to the genera Bacillus, species cereus, especially Bacillus cereus D-1 separated from DMF-acclimatized activated sludge, is usually used.
