HOT PLATE FOR MOLTEN METAL HOLDING VESSEL

PURPOSE:To provide a hot plate for molten metal holding vessel which can serve stably for a long period of time. CONSTITUTION:A sheet-form heat emitting body A is formed by embedding an electric heater wire in a heat resistant insulative material and is loosely fitted in a box-shaped framing B of ceramic so that a hot plate for a molten metal holding vessel is accomplished. A ceramic type covering layer C1 reinforced with a ceramic fiber textile is provided over the whole outside surfaces of the framing B and a hardened body 6 of paste-form fire-resisting material which stops up the top opening, and also a similar covering layer C2 is provided over the portion mating with the molten metal surface so that a doxuble construction is embodied. A similar covering layer C3 is provided also over the inside surface of the framing B, while a similar covering layer C4 is provided over the surface of the heat emitting body A. Owing to the provision of ceramic type covering layers C1, C2, C3, cracking is less likely to be generated in the framing B, and an eventually initiated crack will not propagate into the covering layer C1. Even if the molten metal has intruded into the framing, erosion can be checked by the covering layer C4.
