Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor with an undercoat layer of >=0.5mum thickness formed using an organometallic compd. so as to protect the substrate, to prevent the corrosion of the substrate, to cover defects on the substrate and to prevent the electrical breakdown of the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:This electrophotographic photoreceptor has an undercoat layer contg. an organometallic compd. and an inorg. pigment between the substrate and photosensitive layer. The undercoat layer may further contain a silane coupling agent. A typical example of the organometallic compd. is zirconium alkoxide. The inorg. pigment is preferably superfine particles of
