HIGH MOUNT STOP LAMP INSTALLATION STRUCTURE

PURPOSE:To obtain a high mount stop lamp installation structure which prevents the interference in the installation of the panel flange of an outer panel and a lens and permits the installation at the always stable installation position, free from the intrusion of water and leak of light. CONSTITUTION:A panel flange 6 is formed at the inner peripheral end 11a of an opened port part 11 formed on the outer panel 5 of a car body, and a recessed place 3 for the insertion of the panel flange 6 is formed on the outer periphery of the lens 1 of a high mount stop lamp 9, and on the further outer periphery of the recessed place 3, a lens flange 2 is formed in extension integrally with the lens 1, and one surface 2a of the lens flange 2 is brought into contact with a packing 4 arranged along the inner wall 5a of the outer panel 5. At the same time, on the other surface 2b of the lens flange 2, the opened end surface 12 of the housing 8 of the high mount stop lamp 9 is brought into contact, and the packing 4 and the lens flange 2 are nipped by the inner wall 5a of the outer panel 5 and the opened end surface 12 of the housing 8.
