Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To automatically and easily measure traffic amount by an image processing. CONSTITUTION:In this method, a camera for photographing a set observation area and obtaining image data and an image processor fetching the image data from the camera and performing an image processing are provided. The image processor takess the difference of a basic screen 7 composed of only stationary objects and an inputted image 9 photographing a moving vehicle 8, extracts the only vehicle 8, successively adds the obtained extracted images 10, determines the sum up of the traces added to the picture elements within an arbitrary measuring range and measures traffic amount.
