TERMINAL MACHINING DEVICE FOR COATED OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To provide a terminal machining device for optical fiber which can be constituted compactly with a simple mechanism and is automated. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 11 is held at an optical fiber holding and moving part 1, and the jacket is cut with a jacket removing blade 3 and held. The jacket is drawn and removed by the movement of the optical fiber holding and moving part 1. Then, a couple of electrodes 4 held by an electrode holding and moving part 5 are elevated and discharge is caused to burn out the remaining unremoved jacket. Then, the glass part 11a of the optical fiber is clamped by a couple of optical fiber clamp bases 6 and a couple of optical fiber clamps 7 and flawed from below with a flawing blade 8 held on a flawing blade holding and moving table 9 which moves in a horizontal plane, and, the flawing blade holding and moving base 9 is made to stand by and a pressing force is applied from above by an optical fiber bending piece 10 to bent and cut the optical fiber. The cut surfaces become mirror surfaces.
