Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To greatly increase intensity of collected scattered radiation. CONSTITUTION: An unknown gas stored in a long hollow pipe with a highly reflective coating is irradiated with radiation from a laser source 102. A electromagnetic radiation 103 emitted from the laser source is directed along the overall length of the pipe so as to collide with molecules of the unknown gas inside the pipe. By means of this collision, a weakly scattered electromagnetic radiation 112 shifted with respect to the irradiating radiation is emitted. The coating sufficiently reflects the scattered radiation 112 so as to substantially seal the scattered radiation 112. An outlet is connected to the long hollow pipe so that the scattered radiation can be collected through the reflective coating for analysis. When the collected scattered radiation 112 is used with a conventional spectrometer, the composition and concentration of the unknown gas ranging over a wide range can be quickly determined with high precision. This system can be used for analysis of other scattering media over a wide range.
