Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain an acid-functional polyester resin having relatively low toxicity, exhibiting extreme outdoor durability in a harden state and useful for the application to powder coating-composition by reacting a compound having a hydroxyl group with other specific compounds. CONSTITUTION:This objective resin is obtained by reacting (A) (i) a compound having a primary or secondary mono-functional hydroxyl group and/or (ii) a compound having a primary or secondary hydroxyl group and a tertiary aliphatic carboxyl group with (B) an aromatic carboxylic acid having two carboxyl groups, an alicyclic carboxylic acid having two secondary carboxylic groups or their anhydride, (C) a diol compound having two aliphatic hydroxyl groups, which may be independently primary or secondary and (D) a dihydroxymonocarboxylic acid having a tertiary aliphatic carboxylic group and two aliphatic hydroxyl groups which may be independently primary or secondary.
