Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a new plasmid useful for the preparation of a plasmid vector which is a shuttle vector of Bifidobacterium longum and another host. CONSTITUTION:This plasmid is a plasmid, pBL595, having the restriction enzyme recognition sites shown in the figure and a size of about 2.90kb and originated from a Bifidobacterium longum, e.g. Bifidobacterium longum SBT0595 (FERM P-14162). A plasmid vector pBLEMl00 having a molecular weight of 6.10kb is prepared from the plasmid pBL595, AvaI.HindIII fragment of pBR329 originated from E.coli and HindIII.AvaI fragment of pAMbetaI originated from Enterococcus faecalis. The plasmid pBL595 can be prepared by culturing Bifidobacterium longum SBT0595 strain, disintegrating the cultured cells and separating the plasmid by density gradient centrifugation, etc.
