Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To obtain a film having a good traveling property, scratching resistance and electromagnetic characteristics by incorporating specific ratios of spherical silica particles, calcium carbonate particles and alumina particles having prescribed grain sizes as a lubricant into the film at the time of producing the film. CONSTITUTION: The spherical silica particles having the average grain size of 0.1 to 2μm are incorporated at 0.01 to 1wt.%, the calcium carbonate having the average grain size of 0.1 to 3μm at 0.01 to 2wt.% and the alumina particles having the grain size of 0.1 to 1μm at 0.1 to 2wt.% of the weight of the polyester used at the time of producing the polyester film for magnetic recording media as the lubricant into the film. The polyester film for the magnetic recording medium having the improved traveling property, scratching resistance and electromagnetic characteristics is obtd.
