Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To diagnose deterioration degree of a core wire coating by obtaining the difference between a crack signal from a depth of about 100mum and a special distribution from both differences of a strength and the number of a pulse peaks and the distribution. CONSTITUTION:An electric pulse signal is transmitted from a transceiver 20, and an ultrasonic pulse is incident from an ultrasonic sensor 10 to a core wire coating 2. An ultrasonic signal reflected from a cable core wire 2 in the coating 2 or a crack 3 is converted to an electric signal by the sensor 10. It is supplied from the sensor 10 to the transceiver 20, and amplified. This received signal (waveform) is analyzed and processed by a deterioration diagnosing unit 30, and a deterioration degree due to the crack 3 is calculated. This result is output to and stored in a display memory 40.
