THIOCARBONATE COMPOUND AND CURABLE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a new thiocarbonate compound of a starting compound for a new optically curable resin composition, having excellent storage stability for a long time and useful for an adhesive, a paint, a coating agent, etc. CONSTITUTION:This is a thiocarbonate compound having >=2 of thiocarbonate groups expressed by formula I, formula II and/or formula III [R to R are each H, a halogen, nitrile, an alkoxycarbonyl, an alkyl, an acyl, a phenyl, a benzyl or a naphthyl; (n) is an integer of >=1, (a)+(n)=5, (b)+(n)=7, (c)+(n)=9] in a molecule, e.g. p-xylenebis(2-nitrobenzyl-alpha-S-thiocarbonate). A compound having a group of formula I, formula II and/or formula III is obtained e.g. by reacting a carbonylimidazole compound with a thiol compound. A curable resin composition is obtained by compounding a thiocarbonate compound having a group expressed by formula I, formula II and/or formula III with a compound having at least 2 of functional groups selected from epoxy, isocyanate, vinyl and oxazoline.
