METHOD FOR ADJUSTING RESONANCE FREQUENCY OF SURFACE MOUNTED ANTENNA

PURPOSE:To obtain required resonance frequency by partially grinding a radia tion electrode, a ground electrode and a side face electrode when resonance frequency is different from the required one and changing capacitance and inductance elements generated in an antenna. CONSTITUTION:A groove part 3 having a both ends 3a, 3b on a pair of opposite side faces 2a, 2b is formed on the upper face 2c of a substrate 2 consisting of a dielectric substance. A radiation electrode 4 is formed on the inner periphery of the groove part 3. A feeding electrode 5 continued to the electrode 4 and a ground electrode 6 insulated from the electrode 5 are formed on one side face 2a of the substrate 2 and a side face electrode 7 is formed on the other side face 2b to constitute a surface mounted type antenna 1. When the resonance frequency of the antenna 1 is different from a required value, a rooter 8 is pressed against the electrodes 6, 7 formed on the substrate 2 to partially grind them. Consequenty the capacitance and inductance components of the antenna 1 are changed and the value of resonance frequency is changed. The electrodes 6, 7 are grinded until the resonance frequency reaches a required value.
