VIDEO TELEPHONE SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To provide a video telephone system with an automatic message recording function in which undesired image information is not recorded and unrecording of required image information is not caused. CONSTITUTION:Upon the receipt of an incoming notice from a moving picture transmitter by a moving picture receiver set to the automatic answering mode, the moving picture receiver sends a reply message representing that its own terminal equipment recorded in advance is set to the automatic answering mode to the moving picture transmitter and sends a forced refresh signal requesting that a moving picture is coded in the in-frame mode and sent to the moving picture transmitter after the transmission of the reply message. The moving picture transmitter receiving the forced refresh signal executes forcibly refresh operation and codes the moving picture data in the in-frame mode and sends the result to the moving picture receiver. The moving picture receiver starts the recording of an automatic answering message from the moving picture coded in the in-frame mode received at first after the transmission of the forced refresh signal.
