Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a method and device by which rolling of a welded tube is prevented without increasing the thickness of edge part of a metallic belt. CONSTITUTION:A correcting roll 1 having a curved surface with specific curvature is arranged on the inlet side of a breakdown roll 24 and a displacement gage 3 is arranged between the correcting roll 1 and an entering guide roll 23. The correcting roll 1 is fitted to a rolling reduction device 5 and a controller 4 by which the device 5 is controlled is connected to the device 5. The displacement gage 3 is connected to the controller 4. When the displacement amount measured by the gage 3 is given to the controller 4, the reduction device 5 makes the correcting roll 1 work so that the chamber is corrected and rolling is prevented by reducing both edge parts E of a metallic belt H with each different specific reduction amount respectively.
