ORGANIC OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING RERECORDING THEREOF

PURPOSE: To improve the recording density and also to prevent the re-recording of an organic optical recording medium by forming an oligomer type thermosetting or photo-curing resin hardening layer at the upper or lower end of a recording layer and using a near infrared ray absorption coloring matter to form the recording layer. CONSTITUTION: When a recording layer 3 of an organic recording medium is condensed by a laser in a record mode, the laser is absorbed by the coloring matter of the layer 3 and the heat is generated. This heat partly deteriorates a hardening layer resin and the pit form recording signals are produced. In a reproduction mode, the recording medium is read by means of a recording laser and with output lower than that of the record mode. Then the information is read based on the difference of reflection factors between both parts which are recorded and not recorded when the disk surface is irradiated by the laser.
