ON-LINE HAND-WRITTEN CHARACTER STRING SEGMENTATION AND RECOGNITION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To clearly discriminate a capital letter and a small letter being the same font in which the capital letter and the small letter have the same character style. CONSTITUTION:A character string segmentation means 12 segments characters based on coordinate data strings obtained by a coordinate input means 1. A recognition means 3 recognizes a character based on a coordinate data string segmented for one character by the character string segmentation means 2. A capital letter and small letter detection means 41 in a capital letter and small letter discrimination means 4 detects the same character-style letter from the characters recognized by the recognition means 3. A letter size comparison decision means 42 in the capital letter and small letter discrimination means 4 decides whether the detected the same character-style letter is a capital letter or a small letter based on the segmentation by the character string segmentation means 2 when the capital letter and small letter detection means 41 detects the same character-style letter.
