ELASTIC BRISTLE GRINDING WHEEL

PURPOSE:To prevent falling off of an abrasive and breaking of a bristle by forming an elastic bristle grinding wheel suitable for metal polishing or finishing of a glass cut edge or the like by joining an abrasive mixed aromatic polyamide bristle having a specific fiber length to a polyester type polyurethane elastic foam body. CONSTITUTION:This elastic bristle grinding wheel whose grinding wheel body 1 is carried on a metallic holding plate 2, is formed by joining an abrasive mixed bristle having a fiber length of 5 to 50mm by using a polyester type polyurethane foam body having specific gravity of 0.2 to 0.4 as a binder. The abrasive mixed bristle is formed of mixture composed of an inorganic fine piece and aromatic polyamide, and the mixture is prepared so as to have a fibrous material where an areal average of a cutting surface cut in the perpendicular direction along the fiber axis is within a range of 0. 01 to 5mm . Diamond or corrundum is used as the inorganic fine piece (an abrasive), and polyphenylene isophthalic amide or the like is cited as the aromatic polyamide.
