Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a lapping processing method and a lapping machine which can conduct lapping processing excellently even if a work is the one that is equipped with a processing surface whose cross section is of a non-circular shape and which possesses a recessed circular arc surface. CONSTITUTION:Push-pressing surfaces 44a fitted with lapping arms 42 push-press a lapping paper sheet (p) against a work (w) from both sides by means of shoes 44 each of whose cross sections is of a circular arc shape and each of which is of a projecting stripe shape, and a lapping head device 40 is oscillated in the axis center direction of the work (w), and lapping processing is conducted by rotating drivingly the work (w) while the lapping head device 40 is also being oscillated in a direction that meets at right angles with the axis center direction of the work (w).
