DEVICE FOR RETAINING DRINK CONTAINER, ETC

PURPOSE: To store a device for holding a drink container or the like in a space- saving manner in relation to the height and thickness of the device by incorporating the device into a storage compartment of an automobile. CONSTITUTION: A collectively pivotable holding ring 1 having a first ring half 4 and a second ring half 5 is provided, and rotation guides 3 coupled to the ring halves via horizontally arranged rotary joints 8 and being movable from a vertical collective pivoting position to a horizontal holding position which completes the bolding ring for holding the first ring half 4 during pivotal movement from a vertical position to a horizontal position and vice versa are provided on both sides. Guide rails 2 are horizontally arranged on both sides of the wall of a storage compartment, and the second ring half 5 is borne on the guide rails and is guided during opening pivotal movement and collecting pivotal movement.
