Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To enable performing reservation of video recording by a telephone from an arbitrary place such as the outdoors and the like and to enable avoiding the erasion of a recorded important video by providing a second video unit which can perform video recording by reservation through a telephone channel, reservation information storing section, and a discriminating section. CONSTITUTION:A video recorder (VTR) 1 is provided with two video units 11, 12, tuners 13, 14, and a control section 15. One side of video units 11 records and reproduces a video signal SVa of a broadcast program in cassette tapes 11T of various systems. The other side video unit 12 can record and reproduce a video signal SVb of a broadcast program in cassette tapes 12T, while video recording by reservation is performed through a telephone channel. A reservation information storing section 27a in the control section 15 stores reservation information for video recording by reservation, a discriminating section 27b discriminates whether reservation is made through a telephone channel or made by the other means.
