Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To reduce generation of gas by using zinc alloy powder, for a negative electrode active material, obtained by specifying an aluminum adding quantity in adding of indium, bismuth and aluminum. CONSTITUTION:Indium of adding quantity 0.050weight%, bismuth of adding quantity 0.010weight% and aluminum of adding quantity 0.001-0.004weight% to zinc weight are added to obtain zinc alloy powder. By using this mercury-free and lead-free zinc alloy powder for a negative electrode active material, a battery with little gas generation and avoiding a short life even in ultra-light load discharge can be obtained.
