Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a composition which gives a film excellent in water repellency and resistance to marring, solvents, and boiling by mixing an oligomer obtained from a specific monomer through partial hydrolysis and condensation with a solvent or a dispersion medium. CONSTITUTION:This composition comprises an oligomer dissolved or dispersed in a solvent or dispersion medium (e.g., methanol), the oligomer being the one obtained by partially hydrolyzing and condensing a monomer represented by formula I or II (wherein R to R each is a 1-6C alkyl or an aryl) and preferably having a residual-monomer content of 1wt.% or lower. It preferably contains an organic compound (e.g. an acrylic resin) having at least two functional groups reactive with at least two OH groups of the oligomer.
