Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To activate actions of microorganisms, etc., propagating in carriers by warming up the inside of a housing case and to kill injurious insects, such as flies, generated in the carriers by maintaining the temp. in the housing case at a high temp. for a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:A treating vessel 1 which houses the carriers 2 and has air permeability is covered by the housing case 7 which retains a space 8. Hot air is supplied by a heater 33 and a fan 33 to the space 8 to warm the inside of the housing case 7 and to activate the actions of the microorganisms, etc., propagating in the carriers 2, by which the decomposition efficiency of garbage is improved. The temp. in the spaces 8, 13 is so controlled as to attain >=50 deg.C for a prescribed time.
