ON-LINE CHARACTER RECOGNIZING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide an on-line character recognizing device which can reduce the misrecognition of tilted or deformed characters. CONSTITUTION:When a handwritten character, etc., is supplied through a coordinate input device 1, a feature point extracting means 2 extracts the feature points of component strokes of the input character out of a coordinate data string acquired from the device 1. A stroke coding means 3 codes each stroke based on the positional relation among the feature points extracted by the means 2. A feature value matching means 4 secures the matching between the output data on both means 2 and 3 and the contents of a character dictionary and recognizes the characters. A character code rereading means 5 refers to a character code rereading dictionary 6 and rereads the character code misrecognized by the means 4 as a correct character code.
