CLEANING METHOD OF THERMAL HEAD

PURPOSE: To efficiently remove debris from a thermal head by processing the thermal head with use of a solution in which a lubricant of paraffins, fluoro compounds or the like is blended with an organic solvent having a vapor pressure of a specific range. CONSTITUTION: A lubricant selected from the group of paraffins, polyolefin waxes, fluoro compounds, phosphate compounds, sulfonate compound, polysiloxanes, fatty acids, fatty acid esters, fatty alcohols, fatty acid amides, fatty acid salts and polyalkyleneoxides is blended with at least one organic solvent having in a pure state a vapor pressure higher than 25 mbar at 20 deg.C, whereby a cleaning solution is prepared. A thermal head of a thermal printer is cleaned with use of the cleaning solution. A concrete example of the solvent is methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, acetone, ethyl methyl ketone, ethyl acetate or the like.
