Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To execute automatic adjustment for time base variation by comparing a phase reference signal with the phase of a write clock for a time base variation correcting circuit and feeding back data obtained by the comparison to a delay circuit. CONSTITUTION:A MUSE deemphasis circuit 4 receives the other output of an A/D converter 3 and executes deemphasis processing for returning non-linear emphasis executed on the transmitting side to obtain fine transmission characteristics to an original signal by a MUSE signal and a horizontal synchronizm substituting circuit 5 substitutes a negative polarity synchronizing signal for a positive polarity horizontal synchronizing signal in the MUSE signal. A phase reference signal inserting circuit 6 inserets a phase reference signal capable of obtaining the proper number of data into a free line of the MUSE signal and a 1st D/A converter 24 executes D/A conversion for an output from the circuit 6. A carrier reset FM modulator 7 resets the phase of an FM carrier in each horizontal synchronizing signal at the time of FM modulation and a recording amplifier 8 sets up a recording current and records the set current in a head/tape system 9.
