Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To surely attain proper waveform correction with simple configuration by amplifying a drive pulse subjected to waveform correction depending on a type of a transmission means and generating a drive signal. CONSTITUTION:A drive waveform data memory 21 storing optimum drive waveform data for a length Lm of a cable sends the drive waveform data to a camera control unit(CCU) 3 as serial data. The CCU 3 uses a D/A converter section 24 to apply D/A conversion to drive waveform data being a parallel signal at an S/P conversion section 2 based on a reference clock from a reference clock generating section 4 to generate a correction signal S1. Then the signal S1 is amplified by a linear amplifier 25 and the amplified signal is sent to the CCD 1 via a very thin cable 11. Thus, sure and proper waveform correction is performed depending on a cable through which a drive signal is sent.
