Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To provide a novel photographic element capable of using 2,4-disulfon- amide-phenol as a scavenger, without generating excessive increase of sensitizing dye stain. CONSTITUTION: In the photographic element containing at least one layer of red sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing sensitizing dye, this element consists of 2,4-disulfonamide-phenol acting as a scavenger for developer main oxidizing body or its alkali convertible precursor and ballasted amine useful to reduce dye stain caused by the sensitizing dye, and the ballasted amine has >=4.5pKa and distribution coefficient of at least 5.0.
